What's new pussycat ??

I can't get this song out of my head since last night , when I caught it on some random ad. about Santa and his Cereal.

Songs, once they find a way into my head don't move out that quick , unless replaced by an equally crazy jingle used in some arbit birth control ad. !!! But of course, the addiction is not limited to jingles. Hindi film songs which most people did'nt even know existed somehow just pop up and keep playing in repeat mode all day long . I mean who in their right minds will be caught humming a song with lyrics that go " Prem meri aankhon mein hein , prem meri saanson mein hein " unless your big crush is a chap called Prem. Although I do know a madrasi anna with that name in the city, poor guy would have a stroke if he heard what I was going around town humming . I tell you people , this is how rumors spread. Think before you hum or just keep mum ...( sorry...could'nt resist the rhyme !!!)

And talk about spontaneous behaviour ...my friends and I take it to a whole new level. So here I was sitting at home reading Suketu Mehta ( attempting to finish the 500 page book on a library loan of 3 weeks is a bad idea, especially when you are a snail of all readers like me ) and watching "Law and Order" on mute . I was all warm and cuddled up, while there was almost 8-10 inches of snow outside , deposited by a 2 day raging snowstorm. Suddenly there was a flurry of phone calls and within 15 mins I found myself bundled up and outside in the snow at 10.30 P.M !! It seemed like a great idea at home ...going sledding on the nearby golf course that boasts of the only version of hilly terrain known to Iowa city worth sledding for newbies like us. There was another one by a main road (this one's almost Mount Everest compared to the golf course one) , but then the whole issue of not being able to stop before we skid straight onto the road, scaring the hell out of passing cars and heading straight off into the Iowa River was too much of a hassle.

So there we were, the 25-something girls, in the middle of the night, making snow angels, and having snowball fights, sledding down the soft, fresh and fluffy, freezing snow like 5 year olds !!!

Who says people grow up ?
